Highlanders at the Maple Festival 2005

Highlanders put up signs on routes leading into Highland County for the two weeks of the Maple Festival, March 2005. We also had a display unit in the hall of the high school and answered visitors questions about wind power. We also sent a press release describing the event and the issue of wind development to all major newspapers in Virginia.

Here passers-by discuss the display on a snowy Saturday morning. The photos shown are all available on this web site. There was also a large topographic map with an overlay showing the extensive areas of the county from which the turbines would be visible if installed on Red Oak Knob.
